Member Benefits

Membership in this network affords the following benefits:

· The Stanford Health Promotion Network Website. This user-friendly website provides a common forum for communication among members, and includes links to key organizations, breaking news, and an online membership directory, updated regularly.
· Quarterly Meetings. Members of SHPN are invited to quarterly meetings to learn about relevant health and business topics. These informational meetings are presented by Stanford professionals and other experts in the health field. Each meeting provides networking opportunities and is usually held on the Stanford campus.
· Access to Online Health Materials. Members will have access to a variety of online health education materials developed by the Stanford Health Promotion Resource Center for use in the workplace, such weight management, exercise and smoking cessation programs.
· Science-Based Lectures and Research Seminars. Members are invited to attend special lectures and seminars presented by Stanford faculty and staff throughout the year. These programs cover a wide range of applicable topics from various departments at the University.
· Research Projects. Members and employees from their respective companies are invited to participate in ongoing Stanford-sponsored research projects. SHPN will regularly post studies seeking subjects on the website.

Additionally, members receive special member rates on the following:

· Health Promotion Materials. Members receive a 10% discount on all materials from the Stanford Health Promotion Resource Center, which offers videos, books, pamphlets, posters, and worksite health curricula targeted at the general public and health and business professionals.
· Consulting Services. The Stanford Health Promotion Network can work with individual companies to develop health surveys and programs tailored for their specific needs. These programs are developed by Stanford researchers, and can include 'train the trainer' courses for broad-based deployment of a health curriculum at a company. Fee structure is hourly and dependent on the level of consultant expertise needed.
· In-House Lectures. Selecting from a list of interesting topics, members can bring Stanford professionals into their workplace to conduct lectures and workshops. Fees vary, and members must guarantee a minimum of 20 individuals.
